Curing Agent

The curing reaction of epoxy resins is achieved by the addition of a curing agent, using certain groups in the curing agent to react with the epoxy or hydroxyl groups in the epoxy resin. Once the epoxy resin has been determined, the curing agent determines the processability of the epoxy resin composition and the final properties of the cured product.

There are many types of curing agents, which can be classified into acidic and alkaline curing agents according to their acidity and alkalinity. According to the different chemical composition and structure, they can also be classified into apparent and latent curing agents, or amine curing agents, acid anhydride curing agents, synthetic resin curing agents, polysulfide rubber curing agents. According to the classification of curing temperature,they can be divided into low-temperature curing agents, room temperature curing agents, medium-temperature curing agents, and high-temperature curing agents. According to usage, they can be classified into curing agents for building materials, heavy duty anticorrosive coatings, composites, adhesives, electromechanical, ceramics and stone industries.
